Julia [JB] Koehler is a mixed media painter and interdisciplinary artist. Her contemporary art combines an eclectic collection of found materials and expressive mark making that discusses themes of destruction and silverlinings. She displayed work in the 66th Annual Sideart Show at the Taubman Museum, Second Street Gallery, the Shenandoah Valley Arts Center, and received a senior painting award from James Madison University in 2024.  The following year, Koehler attended a two month residency at Woodstock Brydcliffe Guild in New York. After completing their Art B.F.A. at James Madison University, they participated in the 10 x 10 Working Artist Work Session at the Contemporary Arts Network in Newport News, Virginia. In 2026, Koehler will open a solo show at The Smith House Gallery and is eager to further her education through the help of the public library.

Howdy!
